Polystyrene foam is made of expanded polystyrene (EPS), which was first synthesized by the German company BASF in the 1950s.
Polystyrene foam is a thermal insulating material, with an excellent price and performance ratio and is classified as flammable, hardly flammable substances.
Expanded polystyrene is provided with a flame retardant additive.
Most often – exabromycclododecane (HBCD, Lithuania does not allow the use of polystyrene foam without additives).
Polystyrene foam is resistant to atmospheric exposure, it is a light and durable raw material. Due to the mentioned properties, it is widely used not only in building designs, but also in bulk advertising, in the manufacture of decorative elements, in the manufacture of packaging elements, in the production of elements of various profiles and exterior décor.
